US 60 Show Low Multi-Use Path

AZTEC was the prime design consultant for the development of an approximately 1.1-mile multi-use path located along US60 in Show Low, Arizona. The layout of the multi-use path had several obstacles that needed to be considered during the design process. The layout needed to avoid and/or accommodate existing Ponderosa Pine and Juniper vegetation, numerous drainages crossed the proposed path alignment, roadway side slope, and environmentally sensitive sites. We successfully dealt with these challenges by incorporating modified drainage structures within the concrete path, conducting a site visit with City and State representatives to review the path alignment and making necessary adjustments, incorporating low retaining walls to limit impacts to existing vegetation, and modifying project specifications regarding environmental restrictions.
