Avenida Rio Salado/Broadway Road Environmental Assessment

As a part of the preliminary engineering efforts for this City of Phoenix project, AZTEC completed an environmental assessment (EA) along with a design concept study for a new high capacity major parkway arterial that will be located south of the Salt River and will extend from the proposed I-10 Reliever (SR30) and the future South Mountain Freeway (SR202L) to 7^th Street. The project involved significant coordination with the City of Phoenix, Arizona Department of Transportation, FHWA, participating agencies, and the public. The scope of this project included the development of alternative alignments while analyzing the social, economic, and environmental resource impacts. In support of the EA, technical studies included cultural resources surveys, historic architecture evaluations, Section 404 permitting, biological surveys and consultation, socioeconomic analyses, business surveys, noise analyses, as well as hazardous materials investigations.
