Civil Construction Supervisor- Job Description

We are currently seeking resumes from qualified Civil Construction Supervisors for our Las Vegas, NV project office. The On-site Civil Supervisor main function is to supervise the EPC Contractor civil and structural work according to Client’s target for Project Budget-Schedule-Quality bounds.

The main tasks under the Construction Monitoring services are as follows:

Job Description

We are currently seeking resumes from qualified Civil Engineers for our Phoenix office. Self-motivated, technically proficient, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, and is team-oriented. Travel periodically and be physically capable of performing field work.

Construction Manager – Job Description

The Construction Manager is be responsible for the On-Site Team observing EPC’s contractor performance. The EPCm Team consists of a Construction Manager and a variable team of specialists and inspectors. Monitor and report the execution of the construction plan by the EPC Contractor. Obtain input from all the on-site EPCm Team (Supervisors, QA/QC inspectors and Admin) and make executive decisions on the construction progress.

This role will manage the On-Site construction observation team and provide the Client’s Project Manager a main point of contact for construction follow-up on-site. This position will be the On-Site decision maker. The Construction Manager will execute the construction planning by structured instructions to the EPC Contractor. Ensures that the EPC Contractor complies with all local building codes and any other legal or regulatory requirements (labor, security, health, safety, and environment). When delays or problems occur, the Construction Manager is the project’s first responder, rerouting to the Client’s Project Manager and ready to propose the changes as required to move the project past the issue. The Construction Manager position requires maintaining easy and frequent communication with the EPCm Project Director and Client’s Project Manager.

Duties:

  • Management of the On-Site Construction Team and supervision on of the EPC Contractor to meet Project and BSQ objectives. If deemed necessary, “change order “requests will be evaluated and informed to the Client’s Project Manager. Once EPC receives the Owner´s approval, the corresponding contract amendment with the EPC Contractor will be executed.
  • Maximizing the resource efficiency through informing the Owner about needs in procurement of labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Developing effective communications and mechanisms for resolving conflicts with the EPC Contractor. Meeting with EPC Contractor on a daily basis to oversee the construction progress and solving issues.
  • Creating high-level construction supervision reports and informing the Owner through the Client’s Project Manager.
  • Prepare, maintain and update bi-weekly Critical Path Method schedule containing all Project activities, in order to provide Owner with comprehensive and current Project status, critical path(s) to Project completion, positive or negative float and potential work-around alternatives
  • Prepare, maintain, and update bi-weekly a log of all EPC-related costs incurred, contractual commitments (including pending and approved change orders), amounts invoiced and paid, current EPC budgets, trends and expected cost at completion.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update bi-weekly tracking tables to show in graphic form the status and quantity of work completed and remaining to be performed. Verify EPC progress reporting including percentage completion, milestones completed, and work invoiced.
  • Attend meetings between the Owner and Contractor, prepare the minutes for each meeting and, after reviewing them with Owner, have the Contractor approve them.
  • Provide weekly construction reports covering site conditions, weather, site manpower, work performed, Contractor equipment and materials On-site and any work interferences, disruptions, or Contractor non-performance.
  • Provide bi-weekly Project related status covering all Project work performed during the reporting period, work scheduled during the next reporting period, Project completion status, and open or anticipated issues, concerns, and corrective actions to be taken.

  • Bachelor or Masters in Engineering (Civil, Electrical or Mechanical)
  • PE or ability for PE licensure is a plus

Environmental Planner II – Job Description

We are seeking resumes from mid-level Environmental Planners for our Bloomington, Indiana office. The primary job purpose is to provide infrastructure project proponents assistance in ensuring project compliance with local, state, federal, and other environmental laws, regulations, and policies.

Candidates must be able to foster a positive work environment and the ability to organize and handle multiple assignments. Field work and periods of overnight stays will be required. Field work assignments could involve working in various topographic settings with uneven terrain and climatic changes.

Duties:

  • Research the environmental aspects (physical, natural, cultural, social, and economic) of proposed infrastructure project areas and conduct site visits and surveys to further investigate those aspects
  • Prepare NEPA documents, scoping letters, permit applications, mitigation proposals/plans and other environmental documents
  • Coordinate with other technical specialists for information to be incorporated into environmental documents

Mid-Senior Environmental Planner – Job Description

We are currently seeking resumes from qualified Mid-to-Senior Environmental Planner/Scientist for our Irvine, California office.  The intent of this position will be to manage and prepare CEQA and NEPA documents for a variety of projects including but not limited to transportation, railway, energy, and utility-related projects in California.

Other duties may vary by expertise including but not limited to expertise with Biological Resources, Land Planning, or other specialized compliance-related activities for clientele.  Projects will include inter-discipline coordination and management of technical leads in-house or subconsultants, as well as coordination with various engineering disciplines.  As with any project, interaction with the lead agency or client, as well with the myriad of agencies that can be involved depending on the permitting or oversight requirements of a given project will also be key.

As a Mid-to-Senior Environmental Planner/Scientist you will serve as the CEQA/NEPA expert as well as providing any technical resource expertise as education and experience allows, leading or assisting multidiscipline teams to deliver our projects.  Your focus will be on the following key areas:

We are currently seeking resumes from qualified Drainage Project Engineers for our Phoenix, Arizona office and/or our Irvine, California office. The successful candidate will be a task leader for drainage related tasks on projects for state and local municipalities. This is an opportunity for a motivated professional to join a growing department and to mentor less experienced staff and work directly with clients. The primary role is to perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design of street and highway drainage facilities including but not limited to storm drain systems, culverts, retention/detention basins, ditches and channels. Successful applicant will have experience in preparing and supervising final design tasks including plans, specifications and cost estimates. Responsibilities will also include marketing local agencies, design criteria compliance, quality control for transportation and public works drainage.

Duties:

  • Responsible for completion of drainage engineering project elements such as reports, designs, specifications and plans.

Senior Project Manager – Job Description

We are currently seeking resumes for a Senior Project Manager position for our Phoenix, Arizona office. The Senior Project Manager role plans, directs, manages and provides oversight of assigned projects as well as mentors and monitors Project Managers to ensure that the Company’s goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed schedule and budget parameters. Duties:

  • Must be able to demonstrate successful records of Business Development, program/project management for established A-E firms, managing budgeted design effort, and demonstrated skills working in multi-discipline teams
  • Actively involved in the pursuit and marketing of new projects and leads the preparation of proposals (SOQ, Fee, SOW, Contracts, PSF).
  • Meet with clients to prepare and or validate proposed scopes of work
  • Prepare fee proposals for civil engineering design and construction observation work

Job Description:

We are currently seeking resumes from qualified Transportation Project Engineers to work within our Traffic group for our Irvine, CA office. The role will be to design and manage municipal and state traffic engineering projects for streets/highways/freeways. Perform traffic analysis, studies and preliminary engineering, transportation planning, and develop final design plans for traffic signals, ITS, lighting, signing, pavement marking, traffic handling and construction sequencing. Provide and/or take direction to/from staff. This position performs a full range of professional transportation engineering assignments in a full-functioning capacity. Considerable independent judgment is required to carry out assignments that have significant impact on services or programs. Guidelines may be available, however they may require adaptation or interpretation to determine appropriate courses of action.

Duties:

  • Apply broad understanding of civil engineering and other fields to reach innovative and interdependent solutions
  • Design of TH/MOT, signing & marking, signals, lighting, ITS and all related documentation necessary for construction of plans
  • Conduct traffic analysis, safety audits, traffic impact studies, traffic signal timing, traffic signal design and calculations forming the basis of design recommendations
  • Generate clear and concise technical reports summarizing analysis findings, description of the issues, and recommendations with supporting rationale
  • Read and interpret engineering plans, specifications and reports
  • Prepares and checks plans, calculations, cost estimates and recommendations
  • Experience speaking to the public and interacting with local and state agencies is preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum California P.E. certification
  • Other state PE certifications is a plus, including California T.E. certification
  • Minimum seven years of experience with at least three years in Southern California
  • Local Southern California experience and clients
  • Caltrans, Orange County and/or Municipal experience
  • Proven knowledge and skills in both Microstation and AutoCAD
  • Preferred candidates will have skills using traffic modeling software: Vissim, Synchro, and AGI32 (lighting). Knowledge of roadway modeling software a plus: Civil 3D and InRoads
  • PTOE preferred but not required
  • Marketing experience is a plus

Working Conditions and Environment:

This position will require general supervision and will have to use independent judgment within established guidelines. Generally uses advanced knowledge to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances. Will need the ability to establish rapport quickly with others working on the same project, and be able to promote a positive team environment. A working knowledge of dealing with a diverse population while using tact, diplomacy, and respect.
