Environmental – Landscape Architecture
AZTEC provided landscape architectural and civil engineering design services for this five-acre recreation facility located at El Mirage and Cinnabar Roads in El Mirage, Arizona. AZTEC’s team of landscape architects and engineers worked closely with the architect and general contractor to develop a cost effective solution to site and utility issues. This facility was an extension of the adjacent park to the east. A pathway from the YMCA was connected to an existing parks multi-use pathway, linking the two facilities. Landscape material was selected to blend the new facility with the existing park landscape and to provide various textures and colors throughout the site. Special attention was given to the entry where the City logo was incorporated into the hardscape design.
