This project was located adjacent to the Peoria Sports Complex and included 83rd Avenue from Skunk Creek Wash to Bell Road and Paradise Lane from 83rd Avenue to 75th Avenue. The goal of the project was to develop a comprehensive program that transformed the area into a pedestrian environment. Elements of the project included developing pedestrian amenities such as enhanced sidewalks, shade, and increased pedestrian spaces; roadway options that included lane dieting and potential roundabouts; an overall signage program for pedestrians and vehicular traffic; and a lighting study for the District. AZTEC was responsible for the overall management and coordination of the project and development of landscape, pedestrian amenities, and roadway concepts.
