AZTEC was the lead designer for this capital improvement project for the City of Chandler. It included the design and coordination of the Kyrene Lift Station and three miles of wastewater force main along the south side of SR202L from Kyrene Road to Price Road. Air release valves, sewer bypass systems and complicated flow-splitting devices were also designed as a part of our scope of work. AZTEC coordinated heavily with utility companies, including SRP Power and Irrigation, Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) facilities and other private utility companies. Major construction cost savings were accomplished by utilizing existing sleeves across both the SR202L freeway and adjacent cross streets. Our team also developed a force main alignment with minimal impacts to existing utilities and ADOT facilities within the crowded utility corridor on the south side of the freeway.

In addition to design, the AZTEC team provided construction management services throughout the duration of the project. This included daily inspection of a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) fusion and placement of pipe, pay application reviews, stakeholder coordination efforts and consolidation of daily logs.
