As part of the new Casino Arizona Resort and Spa, AZTEC designed approximately 1.5 miles of new 18-inch gravity sanitary sewer line design for the new SRPMIC casino at Indian Bend Road and Dobson Road. This project was specifically assigned to AZTEC as part of an SRPMIC on-call project. This project was very important to SRPMIC, as the work needed to be completed with an aggressive design schedule in order for the sewer line to be in operation prior to the casino’s grand opening. The design of the sewer line required significant coordination with SRP Electric and the contractor to successfully construct the sewer line across large electrical duct banks located throughout the project limits. Project included survey, utility designating, potholing, and utility coordination. The design work also included evaluating potential loading impacts to an existing large diameter and old cast-in-place pipeline that was adjacent to the proposed sewer line. AZTEC completed all field work, evaluation, design work, and utility coordination with an aggressive schedule. We worked closely with the contractor to quickly resolve field issues in order to avoid construction delays. Completed on-time and within budget, this project saw no significant construction change orders.
