The position is assisting senior design personnel in developing and completing designs and contract documents. Design municipal and state projects for streets/highways/freeways involving roadway, drainage, utilities, and traffic engineering. Secondary role is to manage drainage and flood control related projects and the ability/desire to pursue flood control and/or drainage study/design projects. Duties:

Job Description

We are currently seeking resumes from qualified Traffic Project Engineers for our Santa Ana, California office. The role will be to design and manage municipal and state traffic engineering projects for streets/highways/freeways. Perform traffic analysis, studies and preliminary engineering, transportation planning, and develop final design plans for traffic signals, ITS, lighting, signing, pavement marking, traffic control and construction sequencing. Provide and/or take direction to/from staff. This position performs a full range of professional transportation engineering assignments in a full-functioning capacity. Considerable independent judgment is required to carry out assignments that have significant impact on services or programs. Guidelines may be available, but require adaptation or interpretation to determine appropriate courses of action.

 

Duties:

    • Apply broad understanding of civil engineering and other fields to reach innovative and interdependent solutions
    • Design of MOT, signing & marking, signals, lighting, ITS and all related documentation necessary for construction of plans.
    • Conduct traffic analysis, safety audits, traffic impact studies, traffic signal timing, traffic signal design and calculations forming the basis of design recommendations.
    • Generate clear and concise technical reports summarizing analysis findings, description of the issues, and recommendations with supporting rationale.
    • Read and interpret engineering plans, specifications and reports
    • Prepares and checks plans, calculations, cost estimates and recommendations
  • Experience speaking to the public and interacting with local and state agencies is preferred.Required Skills:•         Minimum Califorina P.E. certification. Other state PE certifications is a plus.•         Local Southern California experience and clients       •         Marketing experience is a plus•         Proven knowledge and skills in both Microstation and AutoCAD                                                                                                       
  • Working Conditions and Environment:
  • •         Preferred candidates will have skills using traffic/roadway modeling software: Vissim, Civil 3D, InRoads, and Synchro
  • •         Caltrans, County and/or Municipal experience
  • •         PTOE preferred but not required.

We are currently seeking resumes from qualified Utility Locators for our Lake Elsinore, California office. Performs field labor and minor maintenance tasks. Field labor includes performing vacuum excavation and utility designation tasks. These tasks include operation of excavation equipment, documenting finds in the field and various office tasks. Skills in locating utilities and familiarity with California 811(DigAlert) preferred. This is a part-time position work hours as assigned.

Duties:

  • Drives Equipment trucks
  • Operates Vacuum Excavation equipment and tools
  • Fills out field forms and daily work logs
  • Performs minor maintenance on tools and equipment
  • Operates Radio Detection equipment

Required Skills:

  • Entry level position, one (1) year of Subsurface Utility Engineering experience is preferred
  • Basic computer skills, which includes MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Be familiar with electronic utility locating techniques and equipment
  • Be able to pass a drug screening and background check
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and evenings
  • Ability to travel to multiple work sites and occasional out-of-own travel
