To collect, compile, and analyze geospatial data using GPS equipment and GIS software. The intent of this position will be to manage and prepare CEQA and NEPA documents for a variety of projects including but not limited to transportation, railway, energy, and utility-related projects in California. We are seeking resumes from motivated and qualified environmental professionals to fill our position as the Environmental Division Manager in our Santa Ana, California office location. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the environmental practice in California.

 

The candidate should have documented experience successfully preparing and managing both CEQA and NEPA documents for transportation, railway, and energy projects in Californian involving agencies such as Caltrans, FHWA, FTA, FRA, and Regional/COGs. The purpose of this role initially will be to market and establish a client base, along with managing projects, budgets, and schedules, preparing environmental documents including permits as expertise allows, and/or overseeing/managing other company technical staff resources or sub consultant technical staff. As projects and workload demands increase, the Division Manager would lead interviews with and hiring of technical/environmental professionals and continue to build the California practice through training and mentoring staff.

We are currently seeking resumes for qualified Landscape Designers for our Phoenix, Arizona office. Staff Registered Land Surveyor – Job Description

Duties:

  • Performa calculations and CADD drafting on right of way projects using MicroStation.
  • Responsible for preparation of ALTA surveys, plats, site plans, topographic maps, legal descriptions, exhibits, right-of-way maps, as-builts and other maps using AutoCAD.

The role will be to design municipal and state projects for streets/highways/freeways involving bridges and civil structures. The applicant should be capable of managing budgets, discipline tasks, and track projects while being responsible for client deliverables.

 

Structures Project Engineer – Required Skills:

•       Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering

•       8-10 years of experience in bridge design;

•       P.E. certification in Civil and/or Structural Engineering (AZ);

•       DOT experience;

•       Good interpersonal skills and capable of developing technical writing, and communications skills;

Survey Party Chief – Job Description

We are currently seeking resumes from qualified Survey Party Chiefs for our Phoenix, Arizona office. The role will perform surveys of all types including precise control networks, topographic mapping, aerial targeting, boundary retracement, ALTA Surveys and construction staking. Primarily in the field, performing boundary, topographic and construction surveys. Senior Project Manager – Job Description

We are currently seeking resumes for a Senior Project Manager position for our Phoenix, Arizona office. The Senior Project Manager role plans, directs, manages, and provides oversight of assigned projects as well as mentors and monitors Project Managers to ensure that the Company’s goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed schedule and budget parameters. Effectively communicates with management, technical staff, and clients. Provides internal and external coordination and collaboration with clients, project partners and stakeholders. This position includes marketing and business development, directing and managing teams of engineers focused on transportation related projects in the AZ market and to support pursuits and projects in other geographic areas. Interface with clients, and Federal, Local and State government contacts for projects located primarily in AZ and the western US. This position is in our Phoenix office; however, some travel may be required.

 

Duties:

  • Must be able to demonstrate successful records of Business Development, program/project management for established A-E firms, managing budgeted design effort, and demonstrated skills working in multi-discipline teams
  • Actively involved in the pursuit and marketing of new projects and leads the preparation of proposals (SOQ, Fee, SOW, Contracts, PSF).
  • Meet with clients to prepare and or validate proposed scopes of work
  • Prepare fee proposals for civil engineering design and construction observation work
  • Develops external project schedule in coordination with the Client
  • Facilitates as project main point of contact with Client and Subconsultants and coordinates technical requirements with Project Team.
  • Develops a Work Plan, internal schedule, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for the project.
  • Coordinates with Group Leaders to secure resource commitments for key project personnel.
  • Updates the Group Leader and Practice Leader with schedule changes and production resource needs
  • Manages and reviews the performance of projects, ensuring adherence to Scope, Schedule, Budget, and Quality. Notifies the Client in advance if a Contract Modification is required.
  • Lead complex projects and support other projects or phases of large projects
  • Develop new business through technical proposal development, networking, specialized service offerings, client interaction, conference participation and professional reputation
  • Attends and actively participates on a regular basis meeting with the client, stakeholders, project partners, and Company staff, and develop strong working relationships throughout the industry.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and development
  • Demonstrate clear and concise, oral, and written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, resources, and presentations
  • Mentors the Project Managers under his/her supervision and regularly monitors the performance of the projects assigned to them

 

Senior Project Manager – Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Must have a minimum of 15 to 20 years of transportation experience and 10 years of experience as a Project Engineer/Project Manager.
  • Must be a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) and eligible for registration in the States where AZTEC has offices
  • DOT and municipality experience in all facets of engineering
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and data management skills are essential
  • Must be an excellent communicator with extensive experience to include technical writing, oral presentation, facilitation, and executive level synthesis

Transportation Project Engineer – Job Description

We are currently seeking resumes from qualified Transportation Project Engineers to work within our Traffic group for our Irvine, CA office. The role will be to design and manage municipal and state traffic engineering projects for streets/highways/freeways. Perform traffic analysis, studies and preliminary engineering, transportation planning, and develop final design plans for traffic signals, ITS, lighting, signing, pavement marking, traffic handling and construction sequencing.  Provide and/or take direction to/from staff. This position performs a full range of professional transportation engineering assignments in a full-functioning capacity. Considerable independent judgment is required to carry out assignments that have significant impact on services or programs. Guidelines may be available; however, they may require adaptation or interpretation to determine appropriate courses of action.

 

Duties:

  • Apply broad understanding of civil engineering and other fields to reach innovative and interdependent solutions
  • Design of TH/MOT, signing & marking, signals, lighting, ITS and all related documentation necessary for construction of plans
  • Conduct traffic analysis, safety audits, traffic impact studies, traffic signal timing, traffic signal design and calculations forming the basis of design recommendations
  • Generate clear and concise technical reports summarizing analysis findings, description of the issues, and recommendations with supporting rationale
  • Read and interpret engineering plans, specifications and reports
  • Prepares and checks plans, calculations, cost estimates and recommendations
  • Experience speaking to the public and interacting with local and state agencies is preferred.

 

Transportation Project Engineer – Required Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum California P.E. certification
  • Other state PE certifications is a plus, including California T.E. certification
  • Minimum seven years of experience with at least three years in Southern California
  • Local Southern California experience and clients
  • Caltrans, Orange County and/or Municipal experience
  • Proven knowledge and skills in both Microstation and AutoCAD
  • Preferred candidates will have skills using traffic modeling software: Vissim, Synchro, and AGI32 (lighting). Knowledge of roadway modeling software a plus: Civil 3D and InRoads
  • PTOE preferred but not required
  • Marketing experience is a plus

Utility Locator (Potholing) – Job Description

We are currently seeking resumes from qualified Subsurface Utility Engineering/Utility Locators for our Denver, Colorado office. The tasks will include performing field labor and minor maintenance tasks. Field labor includes performing vacuum excavation and utility designation tasks.
