his project required involvement in several phases for the Pestera (90 MW) and Cernavoda (138 MW) Wind Farms, from the basic engineering design through construction, including project management of the entire process and assessment during the permitting process in order to obtain all required permits. This project included the design of wind farm private access and inner roads, wind turbine assembly platforms, drainage systems, medium voltage underground collection systems, a grounding system and communication network, and structural design of wind turbine foundations. Geotechnical and topographical survey services were also provided. In addition to the bid documents, the compulsory technical projects documents were drawn up according to Romanian legislation. A team of about 20 people was involved in the project over a period of 2.5 years. During the design phase, a comprehensive understanding of national and local standards was required to comply with all regulations and laws, in order to perform the design to the highest quality standards and to meet the client’s requirements. During the construction supervision stage, a team of six people from both Spain and Romania was sent on-site to ensure that the construction fulfilled all quality and design requirements.
