AZTEC provided final design services for three solar gardens in Colorado. These included two solar gardens outside of Denver – Adams Community Solar Gardens, a 4 MW photovoltaic (PV) solar plant and Arapahoe Community Solar Garden, a 0.5 MW PV solar plant – and one in Colorado Springs (Pikes Peak Community Solar Garden, a 2.5 MW PV solar plant). AZTEC performed all of the detailed civil, electrical and mechanical design for the projects. The projects required producing design plans for grading and drainage, interior roadways, array layout configurations and detailed design of the PV plant systems. The electrical and mechanical design of the PV plant involved preparation of design drawings for the tracker block layouts and details, trenching and cabling design, inverter details, security system design and grounding and single line diagrams. AZTEC also produced the erosion control documents for the site in Colorado Springs to help obtain the grading and drainage permit.
